See the Vanity Search that Vinny Lingham ran (in the screenshot)? See the stupid ad by the supposed “Rich Jerk“?
Check out Vinny’s comeback, using his own AdWords ad:

hakia is a new search engine that seems to try and “read” web pages, instead of “look at” web pages. What does that phrase try and get across? Let’s let them answer that:
The basic promise is to bring search results by meaning match – similar to the human brain’s cognitive skills – rather than by the mere occurrence (or popularity) of search terms
I’m struggling to try it out at the moment as the server is too busy, so go read Ionut Alex. Chitu’s site below, which is ALWAYS a good read, and if you aren’t subscribed to his blog, you should be!
I read about it here: Google Operating System: hakia, a Knowledge Search Engine
Read MoreA lot of people are currently writing about their 2006 stats and 2007 goals and predictions, so I thought I would play along (considering I still need more content before I can actually call this a proper blog). It won’t be my predictions, but rather my goal/aim for this year.
Before I say what I will be focusing on in 2007, I’d like to summarise how 2006 panned out.
Dec 2005 – Bought myself a domain (www.geniosity.co.za) for Christmas
Jan 2006 – Moved my Home Deco blog from Blogger to it’s new home
Feb 2006 – Realised that there was something called SEO
Mar 2006 – Created a Google Desktop Sidebar plugin for the Performancing Metrics statistics tool called “gdPMetrics” which has been downloaded over 6,500 times (not too shabby in my opinion)
Nov 2006 – Realised that AdSense isn’t necessarily the way I want to earn money online, but rather try and go the affiliate route
So, in 2007, I figure I’m going to try and learn as much as I can about affiliate marketing. I have a LOOOONG way to go, considering I need to learn more about AdWords and the like, as well as trying to get higher conversions, but I still count this as a hobby, so I’m not stressed. My goal is to be making $2000 a month by the end of 2007. It might not seem like a lot to you, but think of me as Mr. Wendal.
If you feel like sharing your knowledge with me, I would REALLY appreciate it. Even if it’s just a plain old “3 step process for getting started with affiliate marketing (for dummies?)“
