Goodbye MFA, Thank you Google
On the 1st of June 2007 Google supposedly closed down a lot of “Made For Adsense” sites.
I just thought I would share my excitement about this with you. You see, since around the beginning of June my AdSense earnings have at least doubled. There could be a number of factors at play here, but the coincidence is great. And, I know a lot of people are complaining about their adsense earning dropping.
So, take a look at these graphs.

If you can’t see it properly, the beginning of June is around the 3rd date from the right at the bottom. Of course, this might not show much other than an increase in clicks (which didn’t really go up). So let’s take a look at the eCPM.

It doesn’t seem to be as drastic, but there’s a definite (and more consistent) increase.
Do you think this has anything to do with Google removing the AdSense arbitragers? I do…

You’d be suprized, I couldn’t find that link!
You know it, so obviously it’s easy to guess! But on the internet you have to be quite explicit I guess.
Are there more than one?
Also, what’s the value of the y-axis in that graph?

Yes, there are a couple more sites, and the one I showed you is not a big earner.
And, for the value on the y-axis, I don’t actually think I’m ALLOWED to tell you what that is, but one day soon (when I finish my current project) I’ll have a nice photo of my R8000 cheque from Google up on my site…
(Which I received BEFORE the spike I’m talking about in this post)…

Though the general layout of my other sites are the same as the one above. Changing them to that layout really boosted my income as well…

I see google has PPA (pay per action) campaigns running now too. The interface isn’t proper yet though, and you have to choose a category for the ads, i.e. no auto ad selection.
So the top left ad is the booster?
Actually, there are 2 ad units that bring in 80% of the clicks/cash: the top left link units (on the navigational menu) and the top left ad inside the actual post…
